Good morning everyone! I hope you had a lovely Easter. We had our kids and their significant others here with us which is always fun. My menu came off without any problems, we have enough leftovers that I won’t have to cook again for a day or two and we shared some laughs over a couple of board games when all the food was put away. All in all, a pretty great day!
Today, I have a few cards to share that, I guess you could say, are Easter leftovers. I really should have posted them last week but I got my dates mixed up. Darn it. The featured set this week is Terrific Tulips. It’s an obvious choice for Easter cards but it is also a go-to set for wedding and sympathy.
My first card today is a bright and happy Easter card. I was going for a sunny field of tulips when i started this one and I have to say, I am pleased with the result. The card base is a half sheet of Peach Parfait cs layered with a panel of So Saffron, The tulips are stamped on ivory with Kiwi Kiss, Always Artichoke, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry and I sponged the edges and background with Crushed Curry to get that sunkissed look. The sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, punched with the Word Window punch and layered on a Modern Label punched piece of So Saffron. I used a couple of dimensionals to mount it to the card and added a trio of orange gems along the edge.
My second card is a birthday card that uses a three panel layout. The card base is a half sheet of Regal Rose. I stamped the Hello Doily background medallion along the bottom edge of the card in Rose Red first then stamped and layered three tulip panels on the same color. The tulips are stamped in Rose Red in first and second generation ink with Certainly Celery stems & leaves. The panels were arranged evenly across the face of the card and the sentiment, stamped and punched with the same Word Window and Modern Label idea as my first card today, I finished with a trio of pink gems.
My last card today is a little more involved. The base card is Wisteria Wonder. The panels, inside and out, are layered with a pretty green leaf print DSP from the Twitterpated collection. I held to a green and purple color scheme with Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant flowers and Lucky Limeade (first and second generation) leaves. The tulips and sentiments are all stamped on ivory and either die cut or hand trimmed. I stamped extras of the flowers and leaves so that I could play with arranging them on the card a few different ways. That left me with a few for the inside of the card as well. The sentiments are layered on die-cut eyelet circles of Wisteria Wonder and I used a scallop edge die from my Sizzix Triple Circle Flip-it Card Framelet to trim the edge of the first front fold. When closed, the two circles that you see in the photo overlap. I finished with a pearly button threaded with thin organdy ribbon for the front to sort of tie the little bouquet together and a coating of ultra-fine glitter on the flowers for a little sparkle.
Thanks for dropping in today. Have a fantastic week!
